Two Boston-based chefs have been named competitors on Bravo’s “Top Chef” season 13. Karen Akunowicz and Carl Dooley will compete against 15 others for the top prize: $125,000, a feature in Food & Wine magazine and a showcase at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, Colo.

Akunowicz is the executive chef at Myers+Chang. A 2015 James Beard Nominee for Best Chef Northeast, she spent time perfecting her pasta skills in Italy after culinary school, a skill that should give her a great advantage, as long as the time crunch doesn’t send her spinning. According to her bio on Bravo.com, she considers her food “soulful, fiery and passionate.”
