Karen Akunowicz has another chance to attend the James Beard Foundation Awards Gala in Chicago this year: Myers + Chang’s executive chef is a finalist for Best Chef: Northeast for the second year in a row. She had to miss the ceremony last spring, as she had just flown out to California to compete on season 13 of Top Chef.
Karen named 2016 Best Chef, Up and Coming! Top Chef returns this December, and for its 13th season Bravo's culinary reality show is hitting the road. According to People, the show will take contestants on a road trip up and down the California coast, from San Francisco to Palm Springs. Oakland, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and San Diego are also stops on what will be the show's first multi-city tour.
